Finance Bank Zambia Limited (“FBZ”) is a fully licensed commercial bank offering a full range of banking products and services to public institutions and parastatals, as well as private sector including, international investors, multi-national organisations, development and aid-agencies, non-governmental organisations, major local corporate and other financial institutions as well as the full spectrum of retail and consumer banking.

Through the experience and expertise of FBZ’s executives and associates, together with a thorough knowledge of the Zambia market and its technical and proven capacity, FBZ is the primary Zambian based financial institution that can offer our clients a complete package of commercial and boutique banking services, business-linkage, combined with the timeous and efficient implementation of transactions as well as relationship / risk review capabilities, adherence to reporting schedules and strategic policy analysis.

FBZ represents a unique key to the Zambian, COMESA and Central African markets. As the leading and largest indigenous private bank, we have become a household name during our 20 years of service to the Zambian Community. Since inception, the Bank has continued to register strong performance and growth from an initial one single branch operation in Lusaka to an impressive network of 33 branches and 10 agencies located in all major commercial and agriculture centres of Zambia. Our network ranks second in the country and our branches stretch to the Malawi, Congo, Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe borders.

Finance Bank leverages a strong nationwide presence to deliver a broad range of core banking and tailored financial services, with specialized financing provided through the Bank’s head office, through which we have been able to contribute significantly towards Zambian business and economic development.

In project financing the Bank has been a leader through our creative financing and funding mechanisms. In recent years over US$30million has been disbursed for small and medium-size business development. This portfolio currently stands at US$21million.

In partnership with the World Bank, Finance Bank has provided funding through the Enterprise Development Fund (“EDF”) for the acquisition and upgrading of productive assets, and for the expansion of capacity and production in sectors such as agriculture, milling, fisheries, manufacturing and hospitality. The Bank was also selected by the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”) to provide on-lending facilities for Zambian commercial projects.

FBZ is also cognisant of the need to continually improve the environment in which our staff operate to ensure that we meet the constantly rising expectation of our customers, both in terms of service quality and the Bank’s physical image. To meet both challenges, an intensive staff re-training programme has been initiated at all levels, with a view to match international best practices and develop the necessary confidence and capacity in our human resources. In addition, an ambitious refurbishment programme is currently underway which will further facilitate operational efficiency, customer comfort and greater pride in our institution.

FBZ currently employs nearly 600 personnel. As a local financial institution we understand the Zambian culture and values which is critical to our overall success. The Shareholders’ continued commitment to Zambia is demonstrated through the Bank’s equal emphasis on the rural communities. Our branch nationwide network now stands at 33 branches and 10 agencies and we are represented in all Zambian provinces.

Our expansion strategy includes identified sites at Mongu and Kasumbalesa.

The Zambezi Sun is a 212-room hotel appealing primarily to families and conference delegates. The guest rooms acknowledge their African roots in the deep rich red earth colour of the rounded planes of its walls. In the early evening the dark outline of the hotel is set against iridescent curls of smoky vapour that dance above its roofline.

Location
The resort is situated in the 46-hectare Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Wildlife Park, which fringes the Zambezi River. Victoria Falls is recognised as one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Accommodation

This 3-star hotel features adobe-style architecture. Simple finishes highlight bright mosaics and fabrics and the intoxicating environment is characterised by ethnic wall stencils, timber and plaster ceilings, Zambian artworks and accessories. It is constructed in a series of eight buildings, consisting of the guest rooms, a central pavilion of restaurants and a fabulous convention centre.

The guest rooms available are:
• Standard Suite
• Standard Family Double
• Standard King
• Standard Twin

Lufupa Camp is an exciting new property south of Busanga Plains. The Kafue River winds through the Kafue National park entering in the north-eastern corner and is joined by the Lufupa and the Lunga rivers which are the three main veins that bring life into the Kafue National Park. In the extreme north of the Kafue lie the Busanga Plains – Lufupa Camp is located just south of the Busanga Plains and is home to hundreds of red lechwe, ubiquitous puku, stately roan and the diminutive oribi. Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, herds of wildebeest, zebra and buffalo make for a full set of antelope. This wealth of game is also a big attraction for predators, including wild dog, cheetah and prides of lion. The thick riverine vegetation along the Kafue and Lufupa rivers brings fantastic diversity to one’s experience of the Kafue National park.

On the confluence of the Lufupa and Kafue rivers is the location of Lufupa Camp. This is as ‘wild’ as you can get in today’s world: an unfenced mosaic of expansive grassy seasonal floodplains, “dambos” (open grassy areas that sometimes will fill up with rainwater) and diverse riverine vegetation.

It caters for 12 guests in six well-appointed canvas Meru tents, and is perfectly situated, overlooking the Kafue River. Activities include game drives, boat cruises, fishing, walks and night drives, led by qualified guides who are extremely knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife. For those interested in birding, the park boasts 491 species, including endemics such as Chaplin’s Barbet.

Lufupa Camp Prices

From £211 per person per night including all meals and game viewing activities.
